| Ingots and continuous cast slabs are hot rolled into strip for sale in coil form. Edging Rolls in the Two-High mill ensure accurate strip width, while X-ray measuring devices and automatic gauge control in the Four-High mill ensure accurate gauge. Laminar-flow water cooling is used to control coiling temperatures. Each coil is weighed, labeled with its chemistry, dimensions, heat number and coil number, then stored and allowed to cool. Laboratory tests confirm full compliance to specifications before the coil is shipped. Shipment from the plant is available by truck or rail. |
